A slow day on Oinousses with a wander through the village, a visit to the Maritime Museum, and a long hillside walk that revealed quiet smallholdings, unexpected views and the island’s peaceful interior.
Wow where did the last three days go? After a flight and overnight in Athens and then another flight and an overnight on Chios I am ready to depart to Oinousses on the midday ferry. I just have enough time for breakfast and a scout around the back streets and alleyways looking at graffiti art…
A quick overnight stop in Chios before heading to Oinousses gave me time to settle in, sort out ferry tickets and take a first wander around the harbour and Aplotaria, the town’s main shopping street. A straightforward start to what I hope will be a much-anticipated North Aegean island-hopping trip.
