“I felt once more how simple and frugal a thing is happiness: a glass of wine,
a roast chestnut, a wretched little brazier, the sound of the sea. Nothing else.”
— Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek
This is for a different kind of traveller
In Greece there are 62 separate KTEL bus companies — and that’s before you even get into regional routes.
It’s one of those things most travellers don’t realise until they’re already trying to figure it out.
And it’s why planning Greece isn’t as simple as it looks.
I’ve spent years working it all out — routes, connections, what actually runs, and how it all fits together.
This toolkit pulls it all into one place so you don’t have to piece it together yourself.
It’s practical, straightforward, and built for independent travellers who want to explore Greece properly.

About Me
Island hopper, story collector, travel inspirer and Greek Island specialist
Greece tends to reveal itself slowly – one harbour, one hillside village and occasionally, one cancelled ferry at a time. After thirty-something years of exploring more Greek islands than I ever intended to, (and spending my work days creating tailor-made island hopping itineraries), I’ve a fair sense of how to navigate Greece’s transport networks – how they work and sometimes how they misbehave!
What I bring back are glimpses of authentic Greece through my own ‘lived’ experiences. (I only write about places I’ve personally visited) I hope they inspire your own wanderings too. ❤️
